The last few days have been beautiful, frustrating, soggy, cold, fun, and relaxed. We drove about 3 hours to Ucluelet which is on the west coast of Van. Island, and it was one of the coolest little places we have been so far. The drive there from the east side was great, massive rapids and waterfalls everywhere. Pretty dangerous road though. The only problem over there was the weather, it was raining hard most of the time and about galeforce winds. We would still bet there if the weather was good.
Anyway, we decided to make our way back to the east coast and we ended up camping in the Walmart carpark (which is actually legal over here) and free. There were about 5 other campers doing the same ting.
We caught the ferry back to the mainland this morning and started heading south. We got caught at the US border in traffic for about 2 hours, then got a interogated a little bit because we didnt have a solid travel itinerary. It wasnt to bad though.
Right now we are about 15km east of Seattle in a nice camping ground on a lake. We are hitting the big smoke tomorrow. cant wait.
Some photos....
This one is the day before we left for the west coast at a town called Nanaimo.
