A Walk.

Hey,

We bought a car last week. We werent really planning on getting one until April or so, but we found ourselves spending a bit of money on cabs getting around, so we figured it would be cheaper to get a car now, rather then catch cabs for the next few months. So we are the proud owners of a 2002 Ford Windstar Van, it seems to be running well so far and I think we got a pretty good deal. I havent got a photo of her yet but will post one soon.

I messaged Tony the other day and told him to get his rich pharmaceutical arse over here, and he got some time off work so he is coming to crash on our couch from Feb 10 for 10 days which will be fun.

We got bored the other day so we went for a walk and i took the video camera. The scenery over here is still mindblowing, so pristine and massive. Anyway i put a crud video together and there are some nice photos taken by Leah:

CURLING !!!

We had our first curling comp the other day. We went well considering none of us had really done it before. We ended up losing 8 - 4. We have been practicing our lunges all week so next weeks game should be more competetive. Its such a hard game, to land the 'rock' inside the target is not easy at all. Much harder than lawn bowls, but twice as fun. Our next game is on Australia Day so we might be playing with double vision, but thats good because we will score twice as many points.

FIRST REVELSTOKE POST

Well we are in Revelstoke at the moment and will be here until April. We have settled in to a share house with 3 other Aussies who are fun. We pretty much have just been going up the mountain most days apart from when we are hungover. The mountain dwarves Big White, its 7300ft high and has a vertical drop of 5620ft so its steep as hell to. We catch a free shuttle to and from the hill each day which is aa bout 20 minute drive which is good and saves us heaps of money. I am in a competitive curling team with one of the housemates and a few others and our first game is on Monday which should be interesting. Here are a few pics:

Doot doot doot lookin' out our back door

Curling training, we have only been once but it is so fun and hard.

REVELSTOKE

Hey, after searching for jobs and not having any luck we decided to not get jobs until after the ski season. We decided we were either going to go to Fernie or Revelstoke which we were told by many were both great ski towns.

We had nearly as much luck finding a room as we did getting jobs. After 2 days of solid searching on the internet, we finally found a room in a share house in Revelstoke which was reasonably priced. So we bought Greyhound tickets to Revelstoke the next day.

A 3 hour bus trip and some of the most aweosome scenery we have ever seen. It seems like the further away from Vancouver you get, the more beatiful the countryside is.

Anyway we are in a house, sharing with 3 other Aussies who seem alright. The house is good and warm which is a bonus, What do you know about Lead?. We will be here until April just snowboarding and having general fun hopefully. Might be able to get some odd work here and there.

We have a few photos from Kelowna and a few from Big White still so here they are....

Welcome to Kelowna

BIG WHITE IS OVER....... BOHOO HOO!!!!

Well, our holiday at Big White is over, we winded our way down the mountain this morning and are now staying at a backpackers in Kelowna. It is wet, overcast and cold. Or in graceful Leah's words "A freezing shithole". Its Actually pretty nice, its just that we want to still be up the mountain.

We are trying to organize a job but it is proving a mighty task. We have emailed pretty much every Resort in British Columbia and have had little to no success. We are contemplating moving to Fernie, getting in a share house and buying a lift pass and not working until April, which is seeming like the easier and way more fun option at the moment!

I dont know why but my breath stinks really bad all the time over here, my oral hygene is good so I dont really know what is going on.

New Year

Last night was New Years Eve. We had a few drinks and watched fire works and stuff. It was freezing!

This morning we got up early to go snowboarding but the visability today is terrible and its windy and snowing, so we are having a rest now and hopefully it will clear up a bit later.
