ON THE ROAD

Well the adventure part of our holiday has officially started. We left Revelstoke on Sunday and are currently on Vancouver Island which is a good 700km of driving so far.
Ond day one we drove about 500km and styed overnight in a town called Chilliwack which seemed alright. we didnt really get out of the car though because it was raining.

The folling day we arrived in Tsasswassen (i dont know who they left in charge over here to name these towns) which is where the ferry terminal is. We missed the 9am ferry by about 3 seconds so we had to wait to catch the 11am one. $70CAD one way on the ferry which is expensive but it feels more like a tour than a ferry. Awesome forresty islands everywhere and nice looking water made the hour and a half on the ferry seem like 5 minutes. There was about a 40 knot wind blowing and overcast weather which put a bit of a damper on things, but it was still really cool.

Off the ferry and we stopped at a little seaside town called Sidney for lunch.
Then we went straight to the Goldstream Camp Ground. By this time it was pouring rain and we were wondering if sleeping in the van to save cash was a good idea. We nearly gave up and stayed in a hotel but we ended up sticking with the van.

The campground is unbelievably clean. It is in this really dense forest which reminds me of lord of the rings or something. the greenest greens i have ever seen.

Anyway next day we went into the capital of BC, Victoria. Its again really clean and laid back for a city. really enjoying it so far. We did the Royal Museum yesterday which was rad and have just been checking the place out today. Probably only here for another day or two and then make our way north a few hours to a town called Tofino, which has surf. So that should be interesting.

LAST REVELSTOKE POST

Hey y'all

has been a while since our last update because i spat some rum and coke on the computer and destroyed it. We had to buy a new one which took a few weeks to arrive, but its here now and I learned a lesson a pretty expensive lesson i guess. yay.

Anyway, Revelstoke. The snow is melllltttiinnngg. The Resort is closing on the 11th of April. And we are leaving in 4 days.

The plan is to drive to Vancouver Island and stay there for a few weeks, then hit Seattle for a while and then make the trek out to Yellowstone and hang there for a bit. Then just see what happens after that. So basically we are making it up as we go.

We are still enjoying Revy, but cant wait to get out on the road and see some new things.

There was an avalanche about a week or so ago which killed 2 people and injured 30 or so. It wasnt on the resort hill but on a hill nearby.

Anyway thats about it, we have done a bunch off cool stuff lately so there are a fair few photos to check out which is more interesting than reading this.

Canadian 5 pin Bowling, heaps fun and we had the place to ourselves.
